Our Story Begins

In 1966, a group of concerned community leaders and church representatives joined forces to address the pressing humanitarian needs in Tuscarawas County. This collaboration led to the founding of the Tuscarawas County Council for Church and Community (T4C), an organization dedicated to serving those in need. Our story took a significant turn in 1974 when The Times Reporter highlighted the struggles of low-income families in the county, sparking a public response that gave birth to Share-A-Christmas.

Growing Together

Over the years, Share-A-Christmas has grown into a vibrant county-wide mission, reflecting the caring spirit of our communities. From its humble beginnings in 1974, Share-A-Christmas has evolved into a collaborative effort involving churches, businesses, schools, and organizations. Today, T4C, through programs like Share-A-Christmas, continues to serve thousands of families in need, providing essential support during the holidays and beyond. Our story is one of compassion, generosity, and community coming together to make a difference in the lives of those around us.

Our Work

This includes providing programs for middle school students in every school district in the county through Healthy Choices. Through Share-a-Christmas, we provide food, clothing and toys for children, making the holidays brighter for hundreds of families. We also provide Emergency Assistance, which assists individuals who need help but do not qualify for other services. In addition, we lead various community projects, providing essential school supplies, free laundry services and donation drives to meet the evolving needs of the county.

Our Impact

We help thousands of people in our county each year by addressing critical needs. Here’s just a snapshot of the numbers in 2024:

Meals provided to local families
Blankets delivered to local nursing homes
People received Share-a-Christmas gifts
